THE EXECUTIVE

Sylvia spends her weekdays as an Executive Assistant.  However, her real passion and background lies in dance and the performing arts, with over 30 years of experience.  Her early years were spent with the Ballet Ouest de Montreal training and performance company, followed by her High School dance, drama and vocal programs.   In 2003, Sylvia graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance from Ryerson University, with a focus in ballet, modern and jazz technique.  Sylvia then went on to teach, perform and choreograph primarily contemporary and jazz pieces for numerous shows and festivals throughout the city.   As co-founder and Artistic Director of Momentum Dance Toronto (MDT), Sylvia couldn’t be more pleased with the incredible success and the overwhelming amount of positive response MDT has received over the last 7 years.  Thanks to the amazing talent, commitments and enthusiasm from all the members in the company, she can't help but get excited about what lies ahead for season 8.

A dedicated teacher by day, Stephanie also shares a passion for dance and the performing arts.  Since the age of three, Stephanie has trained extensively in the areas of ballet, tap, modern, jazz and musical theatre, with I.S.T.D and R.A.D credits earned through the Fleming School of Dance.  Further, Stephanie has spent a great deal of time in theatre, both behind the scenes as a choreographer and on stage as a performer, most recently as ‘Evita’ in Meadowvale Musical Theatre’s production of the same name.  A Commerce and Masters of Education graduate, she has enjoyed continuous learning and teaching opportunities in business education.  A philanthropist at heart, Stephanie dedicates much of her energies towards social cause and community culture initiatives in the hopes of uniting people through the arts, humanities and global education.  Peace and love to all.

Heather has an extensive background in competitive gymnastics having trained with a former Silver Medal Olympian. After a serious injury forced her to give up gymnastics, Heather spent many years on the stage as a musical theatre singer/ actor, and is thrilled to add dance to her repertoire. Discovering dance in her mid-twenties, Heather has never looked back. In true fashion, she started off big, joining an adult performance dance company, picking up technique and terminology along the way. Spending her days working at an Investment Firm in Downtown Toronto, Heather loves the outlet dancing provides her.

Financial planner by day, Andrea has been dancing her way through life since the age of 4. Andrea is trained in the areas of ballet, modern and jazz, with I.S.T.D credits earned through the Fleming School of Dance. Throughout university, Andrea was an executive committee member, performer and choreographer for the McMaster Dance Club. Recently, she has performed and choreographed with PushPull Dance, a non-for-profit dance organization. She is thrilled and proud to be a co-founder of MDT.
